Victoria Falls Airport sits 20km southeast of the Zimbabwean town and was upgraded in 2016 to handle long-haul wide-bodies, making it the main international arrival for one of Africa's seven natural wonders. Airlink, South African Airways and FastJet run direct flights from Johannesburg, and it is the preferred gateway over Livingstone on the Zambian side because the most spectacular cataracts face the Zimbabwe bank. Peak season runs June–August when the flow is high and spray is visible from 20km away.
